Hi Lovelies, and welcome to the new #lifeofaladyboss blog series.

I wanted to bring to life, a series that would feature, busy ladies in business, that I admire, ladies who inspire me on a daily basis, This series will feature their stories, their tips and tricks they have learned along the way, to make daily life easier when doing it all.

These ladies wear many hats daily, from juggling motherhood to being a one man band entrepreneur, ladies who are a different stages in their lives, but these ladies rock for they are making their dreams and passions happen, and they are doing so with style and grace.

I hope by reading some of these stories, that you will feel inspired and know no matter where you are in life, or what you are doing, you rock...

So lets kick off the first in our series of #lifeofaladyboss with the lovely Nina Taylor from Sparklejar Events in Bristol..

Hi Nina how would you describe you and your business ?

Here at sparkler events, we offer decor hire, for weddings and events, to help add that extra special touch and sparkle, our collection includes light up letters, shapes, lanterns, and centerpieces.


I have always wanted to have my own business, something that fits around my family, whilst still letting me express my creative side, I am passionate about creative decor, and my time as a wedding coordinator has inspired me to combine the two.

I love to source new ideas and products, I love the feeling of knowing that my products help to create the atmosphere my brides want on their big day.

I work on mainly weddings and family celebrations, but I am happy to cater to other events.

What has been the most challenging or creative project you have worked on to date ? oh my it has to be my first event, it was for a "30th birthday festival," with a my peanut butter heaven theme !

My dream project, would be to work on a winter wonderland theme, with an unlimited budget !

What can clients expect if they contact you about a bespoke event ? They can expect a first class personal service, I have had over 20 years in the hospitality industry, and I understand that every customer, wants to feel that you really care about their special occasion.

What process do you take your clients on, when working with you? The first step I take, is to really understand, what it is they want to create, is it helping them choose the right pieces, or the best way to display those pieces at their event, setting up on the day, is part and parcel of my service, and this helps to take the stress away for my customer.

Any funny anecdote"s or mishaps along the way ? And what did you do to solve it ? While working as a wedding coordinator, one of my team, knocked the wedding cake topper off of the wedding cake, smashing it to bits, luckily I have a strong relationship with local cake suppliers, and I managed to track down a perfect match!

What are you excited about for 2016/2017 ? I am excited about growing my business, creating a strong brand for my business and building new relationships.
