Lifestyle - Books To Inspire You This Month July 28 2017, 0 Comments
I don't often share the books I have been reading on my blog, and I suddenly thought to myself why not?.
It can be our own secret book club, I don't know about you, but I love the written word, and stories of all kinds, from romantic fiction, crime drama, self-help/self-development to self-penned styled documentary books/real life stories.
So here are my favourite reads from this past month.
Radical Self Love By Gala Darling
This book was recommended to me by my friend Emma, who knew I was struggling with my own sense of self-worth, an ongoing battle for me since my childhood which I explain in this post>>> https://www.glitterandgrace.co.uk/blogs/news/a-day-in-the-life-of-gg-help-raise-awareness-of-sexual-abuse
When reading this I definitely had a lot of Aha moments, because it is not just a book, but she gives you some great tools and ideas, for working on your sense of self worth and self love, and it will be a book I keep revisiting when I feel the need for a new kick up the bottom, or I am having a down day, which luckily does not happen to often now, but sometimes my past catches me unawares when I least expect it, and I'm back in my dark place, just for a while, and this book for some reason I cannot explain made me realise that it's ok.
Live, Laugh, Love, Always, Lydia By Lydia Bright
I don;t know about you, but I love The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) and yes at 48 that might seem silly, but I have always loved people watching and seeing how others live, especially celebrities, Real Housewives anyone? it is my guilty pleasure for I don't get to watch to much TV.
I picked this book up this week when doing my weekly shop, I hadn't planned on buying it, but saw it on the shelf and thought ooo that might be a good read, and Lydia is one of the characters who I admire for her sense of style, and her ability to tell it how it is, something us Yorkshire women are known for, and so far I have to say I am enjoying it, it is a mix of her childhood stories, images and how she got started in Towie, so for anyone who loves the show and Lydia Bright I recommend it.
This is a magazine rather than a book and it is for bloggers, and is written by bloggers.
I had never heard of this before, and spotted it when buying a wedding magazine for my business, and thought it might come in handy for the blog part of my business, I have started at issue 10 In The Frow, I am only on the introduction pages, but I love the light bright layout and the mix of other blogger stories, hints and tips, for anyone who loves blogging I would say go out and grab or borrow a copy >>> WWW.BLOGOSPHEREMAGAZINE.COM
White Hot Truth By Danielle Laporte
I don't mind admitting that Danielle Laporte is one of my female entrepreneur crushes, I think she just totally rocks at everything she does, and when I got a newsletter to say she was publishing a new book and it was ready for pre-order, it was a no brainer, I am on chapter two and it does not disappoint.
I love the chic and simple with a touch of glam that this book has, and I also love the community and book group you get with it for going through the book, check it out at >>> www.daniellelaporte.com
The other book I love is The Desire Map and I work on this weekly, you can find this on my website, in the paper goods section, and it is currently on special offer >>> www.glitterandgrace.co.uk
